Senior Process Piping / Pressure Vessel Designer

Position Overview

Reece Custom Manufacturing is seeking a Senior Process Piping/Pressure Vessel Designer to lead complex design initiatives and contribute to our reputation for engineering excellence. This role is ideal for a seasoned designer with comprehensive knowledge in pressure vessels, piping systems, and CAD modeling.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed design drawings for pressure vessels, piping layouts, and P&IDs using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
Collaborate with Project Management and Drafting teams to meet project specifications and regulatory standards
Apply design rules, codes, and client expectations across multiple projects
Identify scope deviations, support change estimation, and report design progress
Mentor junior designers and contribute to process improvements and efficiencies
Maintain and improve design standards, templates, and digital asset libraries.

 

Qualifications

Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology (SAIT, NAIT, or equivalent)
5–10 years of experience in mechanical and piping design
Proficiency in AutoCAD, with working knowledge of SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software considered an asset
Strong understanding of ASME codes, schematics, and 3D modeling practices
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
Solid background in fabrication shop design is highly desirable.
