Senior Process Piping / Pressure Vessel Designer

Position Overview

Reece Custom Manufacturing is seeking a Senior Process Piping/Pressure Vessel Designer to lead complex design initiatives and contribute to our reputation for engineering excellence. This role is ideal for a seasoned designer with comprehensive knowledge in pressure vessels, piping systems, and CAD modeling.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design drawings for pressure vessels, piping layouts, and P&IDs using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Collaborate with Project Management and Drafting teams to meet project specifications and regulatory standards
• Apply design rules, codes, and client expectations across multiple projects
• Identify scope deviations, support change estimation, and report design progress
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to process improvements and efficiencies
• Maintain and improve design standards, templates, and digital asset libraries.

 

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology (SAIT, NAIT, or equivalent)
• 5–10 years of experience in mechanical and piping design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, with working knowledge of SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software considered an asset
• Strong understanding of ASME codes, schematics, and 3D modeling practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• Solid background in fabrication shop design is highly desirable.
